Hierarchical connection
Directeur industrialisation
2. Main missions
You are responsible for the availability, reliability, and regulatory compliance of all industrial pilot plant equipment.
You work with a diverse range of equipment in a food-grade environment and actively contribute to Biotech Open Platform's continuous improvement culture.
■ Ensure preventive and corrective maintenance of fermentation and downstream processing equipment (fermenters, centrifuges, MF/UF filtration systems, heat exchangers, pumps, valves, P/T/pH/DO instrumentation)
■ Maintain process utilities in operational condition: steam production, purified water, compressed air, cooling system, CIP/SIP
■ Participate in equipment qualifications (IQ/OQ/PQ) in conjunction with the Quality team and ensure documented traceability of interventions under ISO 22000
■ Contribute to the integration and commissioning of new equipment as part of the production line expansion plan
■ Actively participate in the continuous improvement process (equipment FMEA, field feedback, optimization of maintenance plans)
3. Responsibilities
■ Ensure the availability, reliability, and safety of all equipment in the fermentation pilot plant
■ Ensure equipment and operations comply with food-grade regulatory requirements (ISO 22000) and applicable safety standards (ATEX, work under pressure, lockout/tagout)
■ Proactively identify failure risks and define corrective and preventive action plans
■ Actively contribute to controlling maintenance costs and optimizing the overall performance of the facilities
4. Skills required
Technique
■ Diagnose and resolve mechanical, pneumatic, electrical, and instrumentation failures across all machinery
■ Plan and execute the preventive maintenance plan in accordance with manufacturer recommendations and ISO 22000 requirements
■ Manage critical spare parts and inventory tracking in conjunction with procurement
■ Document all maintenance activities in the CMMS (reports, history, MTBF/MTTR indicator tracking)
■ Participate in the drafting and updating of maintenance procedures and operating instructions
Organizational & relational
■ Prioritize maintenance tasks based on production emergencies and communicate estimated restoration times to relevant teams
■ Interface daily with the Fermentation, Quality, and HSE teams
■ Lead maintenance meetings and participate in weekly production reviews
■ Serve as the primary technical contact for equipment suppliers regarding maintenance contracts and warranty repairs
■ Contribute to the training of fermentation technicians on first-level best practices (operator maintenance)
■ Participate in internal audits and regulatory inspections, and prepare the associated technical documentation
5. Profile wanted
Formation
■ Minimum 2-year post-secondary degree/diploma in Systems Maintenance or Industrial Engineering and Maintenance
■ Bachelor's or Master's degree (3-5 years post-secondary) in Industrial Maintenance, Process Engineering, or Instrumentation is preferred
■ Additional training in the food processing, biotechnology, or pharmaceutical industries is a significant asset
■ Low Voltage (BT) electrical authorization required
Experiment
■ Minimum 3 years of experience in industrial maintenance, ideally in a biotechnological, agri-food, or pharmaceutical environment
■ Experience in aseptic or food-grade environments preferred
■ Knowledge of fermentation/bioreaction equipment and CIP/SIP processes valued
■ Experience with a CMMS tool (SAP PM, Infor EAM, Coswin, or equivalent)
■ Experience in equipment qualification (IQ/OQ/PQ) in a regulatory context (ISO 22000, GMP) is a plus
Languages
■ French: native proficiency (working language)
■ Technical English: minimum B1 level — reading and understanding manufacturer's technical documentation, user manuals, and MSDS sheets
■ Any higher level is a plus, given our international partners and clients
6. Working conditions
• Position based in Clermont-Ferrand.
• Shift work (2x8 or 3x8) depending on the production schedule
